What lovely writers we've worked with say

My Deep Dive session with Sam and Fran was exactly what I needed to keep going. Straight away they gave me insights as to comps and the genre they felt this book was. But what I was especially impressed with was their passion and detailed suggestions for this project and ideas on how to improve and develop the plot and structure. It has really given me the confidence to work on what I had felt was a tangle of ideas, and turn it into a finished story.

After 40 years in books and one published story, you might think I could ‘fix’ my own writing. Not at all. I needed an unbiased, experienced editorial opinion – I could ‘grill’ for any signs of insincerity 🙂 Instead, I received two joyfully reasoned opinions from Sam and Fran, whose reputations precede them. Each was well-prepared, realistic, and distinct. Informed encouragement is worth rubies.

Rachel Hickman

Founder of Chicken House Books. Now sit-at-home writer @onesilversummer

Francesca is smart, funny and just ‘gets it’. A pleasure to work with.

Helen Russell

Author and journalist

From the very first step, Sam was not just a thorough professional but immeasurably kind and helpful too.

I sent Book-Fix my completed novel for developmental edits. By this time, I’d been working on the book for most of a year and edited it multiple times. I knew something was wrong, but wasn’t sure what or where. Book-Fix sent back a marked up manuscript along with a separate document with notes and observations. They saw inside the novel, what worked and what didn’t. With their suggestions, I feel reinvigorated and I’m currently re-working my novel, but this time with a set course. Book-Fix were always polite, respectful and prompt. I’d happily recommend them to any other writers out there.
